Who we are

At BelRefugees, we believe that welcoming is not an exceptional gesture, but a political and human choice. In the face of migration-related violence, non-reception policies, and the growing precariousness of exile journeys, we build — day after day — a solidarity-based alternative carried by citizens.

Our vision is of a world in which every displaced, exiled, or homeless person is received with dignity, respected in their fundamental rights, and supported in building their future.

No matter the origin, administrative status, language, religion, or gender : every person in distress has the right to dignified shelter, access to information, healthcare, and protection. We welcome without judgment, respecting the diversity of paths and experiences.

We denounce policies that restrict access to these rights and support each person in claiming them : the right to shelter, healthcare, a fair procedure, security, and dignity.

Our work is built on the concrete solidarity of thousands of volunteers, host families, grassroots groups, neighbors, and allies. Together, we show that alternative ways of doing things are possible.
