CinéMonde #3 : The Invisible City [Kakuma], by Lieven Corthouts
Set in the Kenyan desert, the Kakuma refugee camp has existed for twenty years and has grown into an unofficial city of 200,000 residents. Filmmaker Lieven Corthouts lived and filmed there for four years. By following three teenagers in parallel, the film shows how the hopes for a better future of the camp’s inhabitants are nurtured, but also how they slowly fade.
Before the screening, you can enjoy a delicious meal prepared and served by the Café Monde team (€17 contribution, including entry to the film).
