Loca­ted in the heart of Lou­vain-la-Neuve, Welc’HOME is a trans­ver­sal space dedi­ca­ted to wel­co­ming migrants. It orga­nizes a wide range of acti­vi­ties and events rela­ted to migra­tion recep­tion, struc­tu­red around seve­ral areas of work.

Col­lec­tive or indi­vi­dual infor­ma­tion ses­sions on the asy­lum appli­ca­tion in Bel­gium are orga­ni­zed on request at Welc’HOME or in col­lec­tive shelters.

Preparation for the First Interview (Rosa Parks Legal Clinic)

The Rosa Parks Legal Cli­nic offers inter­na­tio­nal pro­tec­tion appli­cants one-on-one appoint­ments to pre­pare for their first inter­view (Office of Foreigners).

These appoint­ments aim to :

  • inform appli­cants about the fra­me­work of the asy­lum pro­ce­dure in Belgium
  • explain how the first inter­view works
  • pre­pare the appli­cant to ans­wer ques­tions with awa­re­ness and confidence
  • work on the rele­vant ele­ments of the asy­lum narrative

Exile Social Support Desk

Welc’HOME hosts a social sup­port desk for people in migra­tion, regard­less of admi­nis­tra­tive sta­tus. The aim is to pro­vide infor­ma­tion, open access to rights, and redi­rect towards legal, medi­cal, and social services.

“Exile” Psychological Consultations

Welc’HOME hosts “Exile” psy­cho­lo­gi­cal consul­ta­tions led by Anne-Laure Le Car­di­nal-Lam­brechts, a licen­sed psy­cho­the­ra­pist with exten­sive expe­rience sup­por­ting people in migration.

Her consul­ta­tions are inten­ded for migrants, host fami­lies, as well as staff and volun­teers who accom­pa­ny and sup­port them.

She receives patients at Welc’HOME eve­ry Mon­day, Wed­nes­day, and Fri­day mor­ning from 9:00 to 12:30, as part of consul­ta­tions cove­red by health insu­rance or urgent medi­cal aid. Ses­sions can take place in French, in English, or with an interpreter.
